Hey, here's something totally unrelated! you know how "New York City" is like my favorite They Might be Giants song ever? I've played it for you, right???
Well, it turns out that it isn't a song of theirs at all. I was burning the album onto my computer so I could play it from there, and Windows Player has a "composer" column. "New York City" was not by one of the Johns at all! It's by this chick named Lisa Marr, who has her own website and has been in a bunch of low tech indie bans since the early 90s! She even had her original version of the song with this band Cub up on there.
I had no idea. quite the discovery. Wow! I mean, this song is arguably my favorite song of all time, you know what I'm saying?
