I seem to remember last year around this time there already being a lot of buzz for hot new acts of 2005- Bloc Party, MIA come immediately to mind. I feel like I haven't heard much similar buzz about up-and-coming 2006 bands this time around, though I could very well be out of the loop. Who should I be anticipating great things from?

    I'm looking forward to The Islands (formally The Unicorns) and Jenny Lewis' solo album. Okay, not exactly out of nowhere but I'm buzzing them anyway.

    The buzz is big in the UK for The Arctic Monkeys, I've heard a little and it's good if you like that bouncy rock style. Babyshambles and Maximo Park are 2 others that really have not made it over here yet, again you've got to like that style of music. Oh yeah, are the Stones putting out something new :) I would agree, it's been pretty quiet.
